Workshops/Series
Ayurveda for Balanced Living
Ayurveda, the “sister” science of yoga, is a holistic system of medicine, based on 5,000 years of continuous practice in its native India. It provides tools for living a healthier, balanced life by viewing the body as a microcosm of nature––a combination of the five elements; space/ether, air, fire, water and earth. These elements create our personality traits and disease tendencies. The goal of Ayurveda is to bring the elements into harmony, leading to optimal wellness.
In this four-week series, you will learn:
–The five elements of Ayurveda and their role in your individual dosha (body/mind tendency)
–Simple lifestyle modifications according to time of day and seasons
–Ayurvedic dietary principles and use of herbs for self-healing
–Yoga for your individual dosha
The series will include lecture and discussion. Ayurvedic yoga will be practiced in weeks 3 and 4. There are no prerequisites for this course.
Cost: $130 Including individual consultation.
Mondays, 11am–12:30pm: April 29, May 6, May 13 & May 20
Whole Body Yoga Studio, North Wales, Pennsylvania.
